The Most Holy Name of Jesus (Yeshua)
On November 17, someone who I had met earlier at a food distribution organisation, offered to let me set up my tent at their property while they were away for a couple of months on holiday. Exactly one month later on December 17, after spending precisely 17 weeks living in my tent at the beach, I set up my tent in their backyard and carport for about six weeks over the 2025/26 Christmas–New Year period. Oddly enough, it wasn’t until January 3, 2026, after spending precisely 17 days in my tent at the new property, that God prompted me to add this update to the book.
Furthermore, the weekly Torah portion for that day (Saturday), was Parashat Vayechi, beginning with the verse: “And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years…” (Genesis 47:28). None of this appears to be coincidental, but a very pointed effort to lead me in a certain direction!
The number 17 has particular biblical significance with regards to Noah’s Flood, being the day on which it began (17th day of the 2nd month), and the day when the Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (17th of the 7th month). It is also the age at which Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt (Genesis 37:2), and the length of time Jacob spent in Egypt before his death (Genesis 47:28).
It wasn’t until three days later on January 6 – the traditional date of Epiphany – on the 17th day of Tevet in the Hebrew calendar, that I had an epiphany! January 3 marks the optional memorial of “The Most Holy Name of Jesus” in the Catholic liturgical calendar. Indeed, the entire month of January is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus in Catholic tradition.
Going back seventeen years from January 3, 2026, brings you to January 3, 2009 – also the Most Holy Name of Jesus. Ironically – or by design – 17 years is equivalent to precisely 887 weeks, or 6,209 days. Or, to put it another way, January 3, 2026 marked the start of the 888th week from the same date 17 years earlier!
What is amazing about that, is that “The Most Holy Name of Jesus” in Hebrew/Aramaic is Yeshua – which adds up to 888 in Greek – the language the New Testament was written in!
Thus, it would appear that this little episode beginning on August 20, 2025, and ending on January 3, 2026, was all about God proving that He is in control of all things – including my movements – and that Jesus is truly the Son of God!
Epiphany itself marks the realisation that Jesus is the Son of God, and the manifestation of God to the Gentiles in the form of Jesus Christ, with the visitation of the three wise men to the baby Jesus. Thus, it was an apt day for me to come to this realisation! Some even believe that Jesus was raised from the dead on the 17th of Nisan, assuming either a 14th or 15th day crucifixion, although this is open to interpretation.
It wasn’t until the following day on January 7, that I made another interesting discovery. If nothing else changed, as of February 9, 2026, I would have spent a total of 888 nights sleeping between my car and tent since July 12, 2023. But the interesting part about that is that February 9 falls 37 days after The Most Holy Name of Jesus on January 3, which is equivalent to 888 hours!
Thus, from January 3, 2026 which marked the start of the 888th week since January 3, 2009 (the length of time Jacob was in Egypt according to the Torah portion that day), there would be another 37 days – or 888 hours – until February 9 when I would have spent a total of 888 nights sleeping between my car and tent! (God inspired me to add this section in the morning of January 3, before 10 a.m.). Therefore, it would seem abundantly clear that what God (or Jesus) has done, is use the number 17 to highlight The Most Holy Name of Jesus on January 3, and link it with the number 888, which is the Greek number of His Hebrew name. In doing so, He has proven that He is who He says He is, and is the power and authority behind this message and my life itself!
God has power and authority over all people, and gave it to Jesus after His resurrection.
